But this is not necessary; it is rather a euphemistic ellipsis, cf. κύ-ουρα (s. κυέω), also ὠκυ-τόκιον name of a means for abortion beside ώκυ-τόκος, surn. of the σελήνη, i. e. of Artemis as helpster of birth (Tim.
